Suspect admits he killed Natalee Holloway in Aruba in 2005, pleads guilty to extorting her mother
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) — The chief suspect in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway has admitted he beat the young Alabama woman to death on a beach in Aruba after she Dutch citizen Joran van der Sloot, the chief suspect in Natalee Holloway’s 2005 disappearance in Aruba, is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday morning, Oct. 18, where he is expected to plead guilty to trying to extort money from her mother and provide new information about what happened to the missing teen. He is driven in a police vehicle from a maximum-security prison to an airport to be extradited to the U.S., on the outskirts of Lima, Peru, Thursday, June 8, 2023. He has admitted to killing the teen and disposing of her remains, and has agreed to pleading guilty to charges he tried to extorting money from the teen's mother years later.
